Pro Mountain 8,8 is certainly the toughest double rope on the market. In effect, its extra-thick sheath construction gives it exceptional abrasion resistance. Its excellent durability and relative lightness make it an advantage for professional and collective use (guides, rescue teams, clubs…) In addition each strand is marked in the middle (Black limit) to help with short abseils.

To respond better to the needs of professional users, its stretch has been deliberately limited to reassure the second. In consequence its dynamic performance is less in comparison to other BEAL ropes.

Double rope 

Each filament of the sheath of «Dry Cover» ropes is treated with a water repellent chemical before the rope is manufactured. This chemical covering is polymerised at high temperature. The durability of this treatment is given by the polymerisation, but also because of the individual treatment of each filament before the rope is made. On a Dry Cover rope, the core is not treated.

STORAGE TIME - 5 years

In good storage conditions BEAL PPE may be stored for up to 5 years before first use, without affecting their future lifetime in use.

LIFETIME IN USE- 10 years

The potential lifetime of BEAL PPE in use is up to a maximum of 10 years.
Attention : This is the potential lifetime in use. An item of PPE may be destroyed during its very first use.
It's inspection and control which determine if the product must be scrapped earlier. Between uses, appropriate storage is essential.
Lifetime (storage before use + time in use) is limited to 15 years.

LIFETIME - 15 years

The maximum lifetime of plastic and textile BEAL PPE is up to 15 years. 

Lifetime = Time in storage + time in use.
